Ican Mine Metals Ltd., a company that has diversified interests in the reconnaissance and exploration and extraction metals in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. Exploration by means of photographs, images, geological, geochemical, geophysical and drilling methods.
Moreover, Ican Mine Metals Ltd. will provide contract mining services, facilitate investments for foreign and local investors, and will connect artisanal miners with local and foreign companies interested in mining minerals in the Tigray region.
The Tigray region, which borders by Eritrea to the north, Sudan to the west, the Amhara Region to the south and the Afar Region to the east and southeast, is known for its rich deposits of gold and other minerals, including opal, emerald, sapphire, gypsum, iron ore, potash, copper, nickel, and tantalum. It is believed that the Tigray gold mine may be the oldest in the world, dating back over 6,000 years, and recent discoveries of massive gold deposits once mined by Queen Sheba have further cemented its reputation as a potential mining bonanza.
The Ethiopian government is looking to expand its mining exports to 10% of GDP over the next decade, and the Ministry of Mines has granted exploration licenses for gold and base metals in Tigray to several local and international companies, including Canadian mining companies. In total, at least six Canadian-based companies hold active licenses in Tigray, covering over 2,600 square kilometers of the region.
In addition to large-scale mining operations, the Tigray region is also home to many artisanal miners who utilize low-skilled and low-technology methods in their operations. Ican Mine Metals Ltd., aims to support these artisanal miners by connecting them with private companies interested in investing in the region's mineral resources.
With its favorable investment climate, low equity and tax requirements, and vast deposits of mineral resources, the Tigray region of Ethiopia presents a unique opportunity for companies like Ican Mine Metals Ltd., to explore and extract valuable resources in a sustainable and responsible manner.
